Antitrust studies Russian analogues of European alcohol, food

MOSCOW, Sep 28 (PRIME) -- The Federal Antimonopoly Service is studying composition of imported alcohol and food sold in Russia for their compliance with the analogues sold in Western Europe, Director Igor Artemyev told President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

Composition of original goods or food sold in Western Europe and of its analogue in Russia should be completely the same, he said.

“We have discovered many times through chemical and organoleptic methods that many companies feed surrogates to us, that they are unfair, and we have moved through the market with a wide comb. … We are now looking into alcohol, beer, and foods, we look into everything that is being imported, and we intend to inspect this entire story like that,” he said.
